Fun Mac and Who Dares Wins both placed in this last year behind Magic Circle and were third and fourth behind Montaly in 2017 so have each-way claims again with Alan King’s charge running well on his reappearance at Newbury. Austrian School was a decisive winner at Musselburgh on his return to action and will be even better suited by this trip. Well drawn, he won over 1m4f at the meeting last year so looks the pick of his stable’s four runners and will be hard to keep out of the frame. Cleonte has been allotted stall one and looks to have an excellent chance on his third in the Sagaro Stakes. He’s probably ahead of the handicapper and should reverse Cesarewitch running with Low Sun, who is drawn on the wide outside. Shabeeb will carry the Koukash colours so can’t be ignored but is one of three Ian Williams’ entries. Time To Study has a chance at the weights but so does SPEEDO BOY, who has been hurdling and had a couple of runs at Meydan since last running on the Flat in the UK. He ran in the Cesarewitch last year and also when just behind Austrian School at Doncaster in September when hampered. He’ll need luck in-running but has a nice draw and could represent some value.
