Verdict

Matterhorn has developed into a very smart performer on the all-weather but has only raced once before on Turf and was well beaten. It may be asking a lot to beat proven soft-ground performers like ADDEYBB, who was impressive when landing year’s bet365 Mile at Sandown when there was plenty of give and was highly tried after. Forest Ranger won this last year having returned to action in the Earl Of Sefton at Newmarket and his campaign this season is following a similar path. He can’t be ignored but conditions are a worry for Chief Ironside. Success Days has become disappointing while Gabrial isn’t getting any younger and struggles at this level nowadays.
