      Verdict

      A competitive and interesting opener as most have revealed plenty of promise for the future, not least SHOLAAN for the Haggas team. The colt came home in eyecatching fashion on his Kempton debut after it had taken time for him to get the hang of things and a maiden should be his for the taking before going on to better things. He'll certainly be far more streetwise this time and gets the nod over Hyperlink, much improved when the only one to get close to the promising Kid Junior at Chepstow, the pair eight lengths clear of the third. Sir Trevor also showed plenty of potential on his debut here behind Na Zodorovie and looks a guaranteed improver, whilst the exposed Mcvicar still has enough solid form in the book to contend.
