A high class renewal of this event, with an Ascot Gold Cup winner, Royal Rebel, Doncaster Cup winner and winner of this race last year Rainbow High, amongst others. Royal Rebel needs plenty of driving and it is doubtful this track will bring out the best in him, but Rainbow High will be going for a hat-trick in this event, having won it in 1999 and last year. He runs off the same mark as last year and looks sure too take all the beating. He has nothing to fear from last year's runner-up High And Mighty, the third Prairie Falcon and Cover Up, who finished 4th, and on a line through the latter, Northumberland Plate winner, Archduke Ferdinand looks to have it all to do.
