Verdict

Favourites have enjoyed plenty of success in the last 10 years and CANNOCK CHASE could head the betting for this. Last year's Ascot Group 3 winner was having his first start since when separating higher-rated horses in the Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown last month and will be sharper today. Fattsota, Gabrial and Maverick Wave have all won decent handicaps this year but Grandeur makes more appeal in this grade though may prefer faster ground. Windhoek and Air Pilot are also at home at this level as they both return to action with the former rated a big danger given that he has gone well fresh before.
