In depth

Verdict

UNCLE JUMBO (NAP), placed in a lucrative sales race at Doncaster in September, was very unlucky in-running at Pontefract last month and can gain compensation. Paws For Thought has only ever run over 7f and won twice including here but Tanfantic has won twice over the trip and his only defeats came in Listed company. Selected ran well in his last two starts on this track last summer and will be better for last month's run at Thirsk but Windsor winner Good Listener was beaten 9 lengths on his return to action at Wolverhampton. Sir Benedict and Pivoting have won on soft going and the latter is well drawn.
