It's rare to find a runner from the Stoute camp at the bottom of a handicap and Apace may improve this season though she's poorly drawn here as is Satin Love, who Kieren Fallon has ridden on his two starts this year. LEXI'S HERO was quickly in front over this trip at Pontefract a month ago and only succumbed in the final strides. This much sharper track will suit and he's well enough berthed to make most of the running. Robert The Painter made a winning debut on fast ground at Redcar in August and looks the type to make a decent sprinter this year while Crimson Knot has the best of the draw and has run well over the C&D. Steps is another who has shown good pace and should go well despite a long absence.
