A trappy handicap over the marathon trip in which Chester Cup winner and third, Fantasy Hill and High and Mighty renew rivalry. The latter is now 6lb better off for a three-length beating. Fantasy Hill ran creditably over a shorter trip at York but didn't possess the gears to win on that day. Things will be happening at a more sedentary pace today and he should make a bold bid under top- weight. Mana D'Argent is the potential fly in the ointment despite running from out of the handicap. He won well over two miles at Ascot and confirmed that this was no fluke when finishing third at Goodwood earlier in the week. If he shows no ill-effects from those efforts, he may well take a hand in proceedings here. On a strict line of form, he is held by Random Quest. Paul Cole's charge is still relatively unexposed having just had the one outing over extreme distances. Ranville is a course winner but he would probably prefer it softer and he is still plenty high enough in the handicap. Galleon Beach and Indian Beat have little chance at the weights.
