    Verdict

Visibility has ground conditions to suit but Martin Pipe's gelding has struggled off similar handicap marks in the past and is hard to recommend off his current rating so preference is for Yes Sir, who gets the vote ahead of Monksford. The last mentioned ran well off a 1lb higher mark over course and distance last time but his better form is on a faster surface and the son of Monster Son may struggle to show his best under today's conditions. Rocket Bleu receives weight all round and should not be inconvenienced by the underfoot conditions so has to be respected; he rates a bigger threat than Kildee Lass who is another yet to prove himself under such testing conditions. There are no such problems with Yes Sir though as Peter Bowen's gelding ran out the easy winner of a novice hurdle over course and distance last month. Not disgraced under faster ground on his handicap debut at Stratford subsequently, the son of Needle Gun is taken to return to winning ways now that he tackles more testing conditions again.
