mid-division, ridden over 2f out, kept on final furlong, held
in touch, ridden to chase leaders over 2f out, soon faded
in touch, ridden over 1f out, kept on, not reach winner
chased winner, ridden over 1f out, ran on towards finish
towards rear, ridden over 2f out, ran on
made all, ridden clear 2f out, edged right inside final furlong, driven out
tracked leaders, ridden over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
in touch, ridden over 1f out, one pace
reared start, never a factor
towards rear, ridden and headway over 1f out, edged left final furlong, one pace
slowly into stride, never on terms
slowly into stride, always in rear
This looks tricky so the tentative vote goes to George The Second with both Our Fugitive and Caustic Wit worth noting. The selection got his head in front at Lingfield on the all weather before finishing second at the same track the last twice. This proves he is in fine fettle at present and he has performed well on the soft in the past. He may look better suited to the all weather but if tranforming his form to the turf he has to go close. Our Fugitive came close to scoring last time out when second to Malapropism at Windsor. That was on a fast surface and he does seem better suited with cut in the ground so is one to note. As is Caustic Wit who has been in great form this summer winning at Lingfield and Folkestone so he has to have every chance. Having said that those runs were all on a sound surface and there is question marks over the ground. So for the winner we return to George The Second.
