Verdict

Two wins in quick succession mean that My Brother Sylvest carries a 14lb penalty here and he may be foiled in his hat-trick bid. It would be no surprise to see Express Leader run well after a lay-off but Be My Light has shot up the weights. This may be too tough for Breaking The Chain and Matako, though Sparkling Tara isn't without a chance back over timber. WHAT AN OSCAR didn't beat much at Perth last month but had to be switched around horses to make his challenge and kept on in determined fashion once hitting the front. He's improving and gets a tentative vote in an open-looking handicap.
