Verdict

This is a poor race by anybody's standards and it is not difficult to narrow the list down. Regal Repose is the obvious improver in the field and is sure to come in for plenty of support. However, she is unlikely to represent much value for her first try at this trip and is worth taking on with something like Lord Brex, who at least has no stamina doubts about him on his return to Chepstow. The gelding does have to concede plenty of weight to his rivals though and is not one to wade in too heavily with considering some of the top-class racing that is on the horizon this week. However, Lord Brex is sure to be suited by this test of stamina and edges the vote tonight. Tarski and pluralist can scrap it out for the minor honour.
