In depth

Verdict

Five-times winning chaser Passato arrives in good heart having been beaten a short-head at Newton Abbot last month but he hasn't run on the Flat for almost four years. Captain Oats was placed on his last three starts last summer, all on this track, but he's still a maiden after 22 attempts. Asterales gained his only success at Kempton in February but is 6lb higher while Mayan Flight also scored there in January and is similarly handicapped. MAGNITUDE won a handicap at Leicester at this time a year ago from today's mark and, as he ran better when last seen in March, is taken to land this very moderate handicap. Turbulent Priest ran a little better at Brighton last time and can also get involved while Carr Hall has dropped to such a lowly mark that he shouldn't be ignored.
