Verdict
BADDAM won staying races on the Flat at Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood in his younger days and had a decent record here over hurdles. He also won a beginners' chase over C&D a couple of years ago and, though probably not the force of old, showed he retains plenty of ability when only beaten a length-and-a-half in a point-to-point at Kingston Blount 11 days ago. He's preferred to Kilshanna, who has won his last three between the flags but was possibly a shade fortunate at Bonvilston last time. Marblehead makes a swift reappearance after winning a point-to-point on Sunday but is a bit more exposed and Ice Cool Benny finished tailed off at Cheltenham three weeks ago, though should appreciate the longer trip.
