From a shortlist containing Dunsfold Duke, Solar Son, Sommelier, Appleaday, Black Hills and Karawa, we will select Solar Son in the bumper. Back Among Friends has shown some ability, while Dunsfold Duke looked sure to appreciate his Sandown debut so the fact that he finished second augurs well for his future, and Solar Son, given that he hails from a good stable and is related to a bumper winner, is another to seriously consider. Sommelier did not follow up his promising Towcester run last time but, if you can forgive him that, is another to consider, while Appleaday hails from a stable that has done fairly well in bumpers this season and also makes it onto the list of possibles. The cheaply bought Black Hills ran well on his debut when third at Huntingdon. That was not a bad event and, with that experience under his belt, he should go well today. Danzig Conquest ran fairly well in a stronger event than this at Newbury last time, and is another to consider, while Karawa comes from a good jumping family and is not without a chance. Finally, Three Counties has displayed some promise and Tanzanite Dawn might be interesting if money comes for her, but we prefer others, the final choice being Solar Son, but keep an eye on the betting market.
