The ability to handle desperate ground rates the prime requirement here and GARRANE (NAP) fits the bill despite having to give weight away to all of his rivals. He was most impressive nine days ago when easily accounting for an arguably better field at Taunton, a performance which sees him hoisted 11lb in the official ratings. He's still open to major progression after just seven starts and is taken to follow up. Phangio looks a danger but is untried on heavy and it could be Mountain Of Mourne who emerges as the main threat, especially if reproducing the level of his penultimate start when runner-up here. Abbeygrey is right out of form but would be a player if rediscovering his best.
