    Verdict

Ceredig gets the vote over Expensive Art, with Turkish Sultan and Toms Laughter not entirely out of it. This could be a wise move by connections in dropping Ceredig back to six furlongs, as the four-year-old blazed the trail for most of the way over Lingfield's mile before fading last time. He returns to Turf not badly treated, and with William Carson taking off a valuable 7lb, he is taken to make all on the stands side from his high draw. Expensive Art has been withdrawn from intended engagements on a few occasions, and now makes his handicap debut off what could be a fair mark, while Turkish Sultan in contrast has topweight but Milton Bradley gets his share of winners here. Toms Laughter makes a quick return after his defeat three days ago, and Cathy Gannon will be keen to do well for Bryn Palling, for whom she has been riding out lately. An open handicap then, with Ceredig the selection.
