With Barry Hills in good form, Heart Stopping is selected ahead of Rice Mother, with Seasons Estates and Foxy Gwynne others nominated as place possibles at least. Heart Stopping has a nice pedigree, the dam being related to useful middle-distance filly Tuning, and she herself will be worth a lot more in the paddocks with a win or two under her belt. She showed abundant promise on her Newmarket debut last October. That was over seven furlongs, but she was put over a mile-and-a-quarter on her return at Chester and faded after making the running in the soft ground. However, with that run behind her, she shaped well when tackling today's course and distance on faster ground at the end of last month, and now makes her handicap debut off a mark of just 62. Time may tell that she is kindly treated here, and so she is taken to see off the challenge of Rice Mother. The latter should be plenty fit enough by now and will relish the step up in trip after her staying on Catterick run. Seasons Estates had too much use made of her at Newbury and more restraining tactics may see her reach the frame at least, while Foxy Gwynne lacked a turn of foot when fourth at Windsor on her return but in turn makes more appeal than the rest. For the winner we return to Heart Stopping.
