Thedrinkymeister is upped 6lb for winning at Wetherby last month but both placed horses have been beaten since. Lord Heathfield won at Uttoxeter at the end of last year and ran well again for second at Bangor last time while though Winged Crusader was raised 10lb for an earlier success at Bangor he has gone close off today’s mark subsequently. The handicapper has not taken the recent second of SWINCOMBE SCORCHIO too literally. The latter was only beaten a length over track and trip by Rock The Casbah, rated 144, but Polly Gundry’s charge still showed a big improvement and a similar effort could see him bang there at the finish.
