Nothing appeals strongly in a moderate finale which is confused by the presence of DELAGOA BAY. The eight-year-old mare has run 33 of her 39 starts on the level on artificial surfaces, winning or being placed on ten occasions. In contrast, she has yet to place in any of her six starts on turf which hardly bodes well here. However, if the value of her latest run is taken literally when a good second to Argent Knight at Wolverhampton over 2m, she is the one to beat as the winner went on to land a competitive two-miler at Ascot on Friday evening against far better animals than line up here. We'll go with the Kirk charge but very much in the knowledge that she comes with considerable risks attached. Fuzzy Logic and Tarakkom finished second and third here last month in a similar staying handicap and therefore command respect whilst Prince Of Islay could have more to offer but is possibly a doubtful stayer. Thimaar, runner-up here last time behind Cosette, is also of note if able to repeat that level here.
