Regal Monarch showed improved form for Mark Johnston upped to 1m4f on handicap debut when a solid second to Opposition and there should be more to come from the Notnowcato gelding, whilst Harry's Endeavour also revealed an improved level of form for the upwardly mobile Kubler operation when scoring quite cosily in the end at Bath over a similar trip under a good Timmy Murphy ride. The pair are reacquainted here and the Paco Boy gelding is expected to remain competitive off a 7lb higher mark. It's tempting to row in with either of the aforementioned but Don Cantillon is the shrewdest of operators and his HINT OF GREY receives weight all round despite a Brighton win this month on her handicap bow. She seemed to need every yard of the 1m2f trip that day and should relish the extra 2f here. The promising George Wood steered her home on that occasion and is once again entrusted with the reins. He looks good value for his current 7lb claim.
