Verdict

There's nothing between HUCKING HERO and Quintessentially at these weights but the former gets our vote, whilst Tri Nations should also run well. After a quiet spell Tim Vaughan's runners are gradually coming back into form and our selection ran well behind a decent mare last time. That form has been franked and Hucking Hero seems to act at his best on ground similar to that raced on here, so despite having a penalty to carry we expect him to go very close to adding to his tally. Quintessentially was a shade disappointing when stepped up in trip ahead of his handicap debut the last day but better can be expected on this return to novice company. He ran well behind a couple of smart sorts earlier in the season, acts on the ground and rates the biggest threat to our pick. Like our selection, Tri Nations has to carry a penalty for his win at Fakenham. Charlie Mann's horse is one who prefers genuine good ground so keep an eye on the weather, but even if the sun shines on balance his form is a shade below that of our pick and he's got 9lbs to find at the weights. Princess Rainbow was set a stiff task at Cheltenham last time and this should be more her level but she doesn't look to have transfered her fair level of ability on the level to timber and can be opposed. Onemoreandstay is of a similar level of ability on the flat but her debut over hurdles didn't promise a great deal and her current form is questionable. Don't Tell Baby showed some promise in bumpers but again hasn't brought that to this game whilst Espirit De Fer showed a modicum of promise on his first try but needs more, so we'll return to Hucking Hero.
