In depth

Verdict

KILCONNY BRIDGE (NAP) never stopped improving once switched to hurdles last season, winning her last three. Ben Godfrey rode her to her final victory at Ludlow in February and again takes off 7lb so, with her stable in good form, now is not the right time to desert the top weight. Kalahari Queen lost her way last year and was a well-beaten last of two finishers in a chase at Hereford on her reappearance but Martha Brae will strip fitter for last month’s run at Uttoxeter. Royal Claret will also have benefited from a comeback run and will like the ground while Precious Eleanor was second at Hereford last month, though remains winless.
