Vale De Lobo can make full use of the filly allowance to see off Fu Manchu and Whirling. Rated in the mid-70's on the level, there has been plenty of positive comment coming out of Ditcheat to suggest that she will be well fancied on debut. She stayed 1m2f on the flat so the trip should not represent too many problems. Fu Manchu was well backed ahead of his debut but he pulled fiercely in the early stages and started to flash his tail when put under pressure. Whirling was a televised winner of a very early season maiden at Market Rasen. The visor appeared to work the oracle but the favourites were notable by their disappointments. Negas stayed on to land a runners up prize at Cartmel without threatening the winner. Inchcape Rock was disappointing on the level this year but looks the pick of the John O'Shea runners. Cloonavery could be interesting. He was fairly lighted raced when with Jamie Osborne but did show a modicum of ability on those starts. Backstreet Lad took a few chances at his hurdles on debut but stayed on resolutely in the finish. A tough call and one that goes the way of Vale De Lobo.
