ANAY TURGE is only a pound higher than when a half-length second to Monday's Kempton winner Moscow Chancer at that track in April. He was second over hurdles on soft ground at Plumpton last month and can go one better here. Sophonie could be the danger if she can recapture the form she showed in France as she probably needed her reappearance at Exeter, though it would be no surprise to see both Sew On Target and the equally lightly-raced Starsky Des Mottes improve on what they've shown so far over fences. They may have more scope than Captain Paulie and Amuse Me.
Captain Paulie (IRE) 22-1 (11-5) Towards rear, ridden 3 out, hit next, never on terms, 6th of 9, 21l behind Marchand D'argent (10-8) at Bangor 2m 1f hcp hdl 0-120 (4) gs in May.
Amuse Me 7-1 (11-4) Prominent, led 3rd, soon headed, weakened approaching 6th, well behind next, soon pulled up, in a race won by Lucy's Legend (11-1) at Kempton 2m hcp chs 0-120 (4) gd in Oct, 12 ran.
Sew On Target (IRE) 9-2 (11-3) Chased leader, led 3 out, headed approaching 2 out, weakened approaching last, 6th of 14, 14l behind Canadian Diamond (10-9) at Wincanton 2m hcp hdl 0-120 (4) gd in Oct.
Sophonie (FR) 2-1fav (11-12) Keen early, blundered 2nd, soon in touch, headway to join leaders when hit 9th, led approaching 11th, driven and headed 2 out, soon no chance with winner, lost 2nd near finish, 3rd of 9, 17l behind Knapp Bridge Boy (10-8) at Exeter 2m 3f hcp chs 0-110 (4) gs in Oct.
