Gumption has been a little disappointing of late but has dropped down to a most attractive mark and is now 1lb lower than when a close second behind Conquestadora on testing ground at Haydock in September. John Dunlop's charge remains a maiden and was well beaten when favourite on his return last month but should be given another chance to redeem his reputation. Kent secured a narrow success in a low-grade Ripon handicap last week and will find this tougher under a 5lb penalty but still has to be respected while Battle Warning, well treated on the pick of his all-weather form, may do best of the remainder.
