In depth

Verdict

Evelith Forrest won in good style last time out and is taken to go in again, at the main expense of Trigger The Light. The selection won with any amount in hand at Folkestone last time out, and whilst the opposition that day was only moderate, he looks a horse to follow. He looks a three-mile chaser in the making but should be up to taking this on his way. Although he drops back in trip today, the forecast going should make it a good test of stamina in that he can prevail. The main danger should come from the in-form stable of Alan King in the shape of Trigger The Light. The gelding stayed on well to win last time and looks open to improvement, although he is passed over today as he looks like he really needs three miles. Of the rest, Maktu belied his huge odds to finish a gallant third at Uttoxeter three weeks ago, and if building on that he could gain some place money. The same applies to Blakeney Run but they look like they're just playing for minor honours, and so for the winner we return to Evelith Forrest.
