First time blinkers might just be enough to help Don Pietro get his nose in front again here, while Mick Is Back, Libre and Castano are among those who enter calculations. The selection has to lug around top weight but that is because of his consistent form at around this sort of trip. He has gone close on each of his last two starts, separated by a disqualification, all going comes alike to him, and the application of the headgear by Paul Blockley can just give his charge the edge from a good draw. Mick Is Back has won on good ground but would prefer a drop of rain. This is his sort of trip and he has been going well enough in claimers to suggest he can get involved. Libre was a soft ground scorer over c&d last month and has won from this mark before. He goes on any ground and has to be considered a serious threat today. Castano has been kept to sprint trips thus far, but there is some hope from his pedigree that he might get this far and is he does then he could be dangerous from this mark. Indian Edge loves it here but even so does not look a backable proposition unless the rains come, and Don Pietro looks the one to be on.
