Even the all conquering Hannon/Hughes partnership could struggle to get a win out of Magical Star on the evidence we've seen thus far and a chance is taken with PEARL OPERA on debut in preference to Veeb and Madam Mayem amongst others. Upark Flyer has been allotted a mark of 66 which suggests that the 41 rated Magical Star has it all to do and that Scommettitrice also has a little to find with Pat Morris' filly. There's little to choose between Scommettitrice and Madam Mayem on their running at Beverley but Tom Dascombe's charge is potentially open to more improvement after just two starts and did find herself a little short of room that day. Veeb showed speed for a long way on debut at Warwick in a race that has thrown up a useful performer and improved on that run to go close at Windsor; form which gives her leading claims in this line-up. However, it may be worth siding with Pearl Opera on debut as she's out of a juvenile winner, her sales price increased from last year to this and she represents an in-form yard that is four from fifteen with their youngsters at this track.
