Imperium has a 5lb penalty to carry fro his head success over Intriguing Glimpse at Brighton last time and may struggle to give weight away all round so preference is for Melody King, who gets the verdict over Ivory Lace. The last mentioned is closely matched with Imperium on running at Brighton and has to be respected but seems to be in the grip of the handicapper at present, a comment that also applies to Scottish Exile. The booking of Kieren Fallon for Alchera takes the eye and Fulke Johnson Houghton's runner has to be respected off a career low mark. Miss Madame is another that was behind Imperium last time and looks to have plenty to do, even on the revised terms and with Darryll Holland taking the ride and we prefer to side with Melody King. The David Evans-trained gelding showed improved form when third at Bath last time and drops to the minimum trip for the first time since finishing a close third behind Mac Love as a juvenile. The drop in trip is expected to suit and Melody King looks worth a bet.
