There is a very strong Irish entry in this. Gordon Elliott saddles both the hat-trick seeking Ringdufferin and handicap debutant Gortmillish, who is partnered by a promising 5lb claimer, while Willie Mullins runs August’s Killarney winner We'llhavewan. Moonovercloon has won at Downpatrick and Sligo this summer but Bugs Moran is perhaps most interesting of the quintet as he has gone close twice over shorter trips since returning from injury. Willaston and Party Business were first and fourth respectively in a hot handicap at Haydock in May and Judicial Law got back to winning ways in first-time cheekpieces at Kelso last month. HUGOS NEW HORSE will have stamina to prove but is unlikely to fail through lack of fitness and goes on any ground. He wasn’t stopping when scoring over 2m4f at Ayr on his final start last season and is a half-brother to Black Corton, a Grade 1 winner over 3m. Hyland won well at Warwick and may have improved again over the summer but Espoir De Romay gets little respite from the handicapper.
