This may be the last time we’ll see the remarkable Tiger Roll run in the UK. A four-time Festival winner, the dual Grand National winner was chasing a hat-trick in this 12 months ago but was easily turned over by the much younger EASYSLAND (NAP), though was well clear of Out Sam and the others. The 11-year-old has, unfortunately, looked a light of former days in three runs this season and it’s hard to see him reversing form with the prolific French raider, who was giving lumps of weight to his rivals when fourth behind Kingswell Theatre, Beau De Brizais and Potters Corner over these obstacles in November. Some Neck won a handicap over course and distance in December and had a pipe-opener over hurdles recently while Hogan’s Height has a won a Becher Chase so might enjoy himself around here though Le Breuil, winner of the National Hunt Chase at The Festival, is of more interest given he’s a thorough stayer. Former Ryanair winner Balko Des Flos, by comparison, is best over distance short of 3m.
