A very interesting novices' event, despite the lack of numbers, can go to Cornish Rebel, who is the logical choice over his main rival, Out The Black, who is likely to provide a stiff test today. I Hear Thunder and All The Stars represent smaller yards that will be keen to get one over on their more fashionable rivals and both do their bit to add a further dimension to a fascinating little contest. However, they do appear to have a little to find on the balance of form available and need to post improved performances. Out The Black, who was still in contention when he showed his inexperience when falling last time, is sure to wiser this time around and should be able to make a race of it if he stays on his feet. However, Cornish Rebel looks a cut above the rest today and this appears to be his for the taking. The son of Un Desperado, the main beneficiary when Comply Or Die fell in a Grade two at Newbury last month, was very useful in a light campaign over hurdles last season and has transferred plenty of those attributes to the chasing game. It will be disappointing to say the least if he does not rise to the challenge today.
