A competitive renewal of this four-miler even though most of these are in the veteran stage now. Shantou Flyer is the form pick on his third in the Hunters’ Chase at The Festival here in March and subsequent easy victory at Exeter but he was only fifth last year, more than 30 lengths behind runner-up Law Of Gold, who has only finished outside the first two once in his last 10 outings. SUGAR BARON is a thorough stayer who has been brought along steadily this year. He might be a bit of value in this with Just Your Type, who beat Cheltenam De Vaige over 3m6f at Cocklebarrow in January, also unlikely to fail through lack of stamina. Step Back has been a grand servant for Mark Bradstock but isn’t the force of old.
