    Verdict

    FOX LEICESTER can make Silvestre De Sousa’s first ride for new retainers, King Power Racing, a winning one. Rated 81 having placed at Ascot and Redcar last year, Andrew Balding’s colt should have the measure of these. Rum Lad has plenty to find on these terms on last year’s efforts though has been gelded over the winter while Obsession For Gold made no impression on a recent debut in France with blinkers and has a tongue-tie applied today. But King Shamardal is related to no-less than nine winners so Mark Johnston’s newcomer may prove the biggest threat to the selection.
