In depth

Verdict

Five previous course and distance winners contest the best race at today’s additional meeting. Captain Lars has been a busy boy lately and does all of his winning in plating class nowadays but Jorvik Prince will be hard to keep out of the frame again, though is possibly a couple of pounds too high now. Fethiye Boy has been off the track since August and hasn’t raced on the all-weather in more than 12 months but September Issue was a good third over track and trip earlier this month and should be approaching peak fitness. We’ll take a chance on SHAMSHON, who doesn’t have a great strike-rate on the all-weather but had being running well enough over this trip before missing the break last time over an extra furlong – he’s dropped 3lb in the ratings since.
