In depth

Verdict

It could pay to stick with VEENA in this modest company. She scored at Newcastle recently having started handicapping off an 11lb higher mark last year so there should be more to come from David Simcock’s filly. Loumarin was placed in a lower-grade sprint at Wolverhampton last time and can race off the same mark but both Kashtan and Beau Mistral were well beaten recently having won their penultimate starts. The latter was behind third-placed Penny Dreadful at Kempton while Saved My Bacon still looks a shade high in the weights.
