        Verdict

        Alfonso Manana failed to land the odds at Newcastle last time and steps back up to 6f while Red Alert also managed to get beat when odds-on over 5f here a fortnight ago. Preference is for BASHEER, who surrendered a couple of places in the closing stages when fourth over 7f at Kempton last time but has had that run boosted by the runner-up next time - this shorter trip should suit. Of the newcomers, Essential is related to a host of winners including a Group 3 winner and is preferred to both Calypso Jo and Captain Bond.
