    Verdict

Victory Bond won over today’s trip at Lingfield in December with Furzig behind and is not out of this. The latter went on to win over 1m4f at the same track but Arctic Sound was no match for the winner when stepped up in trip for a conditions race at Wolverhampton, though finished ahead of PIVOINE. But Andrew Balding’s charge was having his first outing since November on that occasion and, with improvement expected back in handicap company for the first time since landing the John Smith’s Cup at York last summer, he gets the vote. Nonios is back on a winning mark though hasn’t been at his best of late.
