In depth

Verdict

PENZANCE remains open to further improvement having won in good style over track and trip on only his second outing for Mick Appleby. He’s due to be raised 2lb more than today’s penalty and is taken to get the better of Storm Catcher. The latter was eased down when scoring in this grade at Lingfield and won on this card last year while the former Godolphin charge Polling Day will be sharper for last month’s reappearance and makes his handicap debut. Postmark has recently switched yards and is preferred to Three Yorkshiremen and Sayf Al Dawla.
