In depth

Verdict

The betting suggested Silky Smooth would improve at Southwell when stepping up in trip for his handicap debut and he duly opened his account. He’s 6lb higher today while CROCODILE ROLL (NAP) finished behind the selection on that occasion but has subsequently landed a higher grade contest at Kempton and can reverse running on more favourable terms. Manuha looks no nearer winning and cheekpieces are applied but Carouselle may improve now handicapping.
