Western Australia makes his handicap debut having acted as pacemaker in Group 1 events the last twice. Aidan O’Brien’s colt won a Listed event over 1m5f at Navan earlier in the year but FIRST IN LINE (NAP) is preferred in this. A runner-up at Newmarket last time, the Gosden colt went very close over today’s trip in the Melrose Handicap at York earlier when finishing in front of Just Hubert and Rochester House and gets the vote on that form. The latter and stablemate I'll Have Another represent last year’s winning yard though neither have been at their best recently while Emirates Empire won over track and trip back in May but has his first start since June. Tammooz is raised in both class and distance on the back of completing a double with a recent victory at Ripon while Ballylemon has only won a maiden so far.
