In depth

Verdict

Fifty Shades was in superb form last summer winning three times including over this trip. He reappeared with a narrow defeat at Cheltenham but has been well beaten in three subsequent starts. Blue Kascade has managed six victories in 24 starts over fences though runs as many poor races as good ones. He finished a long way last of four at Kelso last month but it would be no surprise to see him bounce back. Lord County, three times a winning hurdler, landed a three-runner handicap over fences at Doncaster but ran poorly when tried over 3m there last time. He holds Justforjames on an earlier run on this track but, in a contest where nothing arrives in form, a chance is taken with BRIGHT PROSPECT, who was narrowly beaten into third at Wetherby in November before tackling the Scottish Borders National over 4m at Kelso where he was in touch for a long way.
