Shouranour has put his head down and battled for two narrow victories and a 4lb rise is unlikely to prevent another big run. Foresight landed a Hamilton maiden and started favourite for a Salisbury handicap but finished last, which can't have been his form. FINGAL'S CAVE carried a big weight to victory at Epsom then didn't get the run of the race on a return visit in a better contest - he wasn't beaten far and compensation awaits. Tadaany won a handicap over a mile at Ayr in August and seems best at that trip but Khelman is back on the same mark as when last successful in May.
