Verdict

BRAE ON is a real staying type who was suited by a thorough test of stamina when scoring over 3m3f at Kelso. Providing there's a strong pace, he can defy an 8lb rise in the weights. Qoubilai has some decent form at a higher level but he's yet to prove his stamina over this far despite landing a point-to-point. Big Sound looked a certain future winner when runner-up at Wetherby last month but ran poorly here 10 days later. That could have come too quick and he's definitely better than that. Welsh Bard easily landed a Sedgefield maiden last May on good ground and his two runs so far this season have been in testing conditions. If the going dries out he looks one to keep on the right side.
