Gioia Di Vita gained his first success on Turf when coming with a late run at Newcastle and he's only been raised 3lb for this similar grade race. Midnight Warrior, who started favourite, could only finish third and tackles this trip for the first time. Grayswood is usually competitive at this sort of level and will enjoy the trip more than most and Corn Maiden was bogged down in the mud when beaten 7l at Epsom last time so the run should be ignored. WALTER DE LA MARE scored over hurdles at Bangor last month and will have found 1m4f too short at Chepstow a fortnight later. He doesn't win very often but a mark of 49 should make him competitive and he's awarded the vote. Philip Kirby has no less than four entered and Rocky Two can prove the best of them with Jacob Butterfield's claim to aid his cause.
