BROUGHTON GREEN is a potential improver for the longer trip today and he is narrowly preferred to Dauntsey Bay. This looks a winnable race and although his pedigree might suggest that two-and-a-half miles would be ideal, the way that Broughton Green ran at Newbury last time suggests that this longer trip will suit. He ran on well behind Zarrafakt and that form looks much stronger than many of his rivals. Capybara ran ok over fences when last seen in May at Cartmel and he is a proven performer at both this track and on the ground, Mt Desert should be fit from a recent flat spin at Southwell but he arguably has stamina questions to answer, whilst Sonara could be very well-treated but he has never made the grade over hurdles. Wor Rom tries cheek-pieces, Mister Pete steps up in trip and Richard McGrath looks a good jockey booking, whilst Glen Rouge ran a better race last time but has a hard task from 5lbs out of the weights. Of more interest then is Dauntsey Bay after a solid run at Carlisle off this mark, and James Halliday back on-board is a bonus, however we are happy to place our faith in top-weight Broughton Green.
