Verdict

WHISKEY AND WATER was twice narrowly beaten on fast going in the spring and then ran twice over timber, beaten a short-head at Hexham before scoring at Market Rasen. He looks certain to take some beating though Surrey Warrior ran a bit better at Bath last time. Star Talent also improved slightly at Wolverhampton while Itchingham Lofte would have a chance on his penultimate run when narrowly beaten into fourth in a Ripon handicap. Sweet Marmalade was in poor form over timber during the winter and though performing with credit in her first two starts back on the Flat in May she ran poorly in a Doncaster handicap last month.
