In depth

Verdict

SHOTOFWINE went close at Aintree on his latest start when finishing ahead of a couple of subsequent winners. That looks strong enough form to land this and he can open his account having since joined Donald McCain. Jessie Pinkman ran well at Musselburgh on her debut and looks best of the others with experience. Of the newcomers, Southern Strife is another of his yard's Flat-bred types having cost 340,000gns as a yearling. He may come out best of the debutants ahead of Exclusive Tara, a half-brother to a bumper and hurdles winner.
