In depth

Verdict

Winning pointer Black Jack Rover was well beaten on his NH debut at Bangor but better is expected from both him and Halkirk, only sixth over track and trip on his introduction. Vaulkie ran much better at Musselburgh on his penultimate start than he did at the same track last time but one the newcomers may well be good enough in this modest company and SAND BLAST looks best of those. He is related to Group winners on the Flat and trainer Brian Ellison has a fine strike rate at the track.
